This is a blue fielder’s glove with a baseball seated in the pocket, blown in glass and 3.75 inches across on the branch. It is the ornament a Dodgers fan notices from the other side of the room, and the one that comes back out of the box every December.

Old World Christmas makes these using a glassblowing method that dates to the 1800s. Molten glass is mouth-blown into a finely carved mold, then hand-painted and glittered across a series of labor-intensive steps, so no two finish exactly alike.

Is it glass or plastic? Glass. It is mouth-blown and hand-painted, which is where the depth and the shine come from. A molded plastic ornament cannot hold detail the same way, and it does not age the same way either.

Can I have a name or number added to it? This is an officially licensed Dodgers design, so it ships exactly as shown with no engraving.
